After tapping the screen of my iPad 50 times, feeling a bit awkward as always, but really wanting to express my gratitude, admiration, and several other emotions the ribbon saga evoked in me, I felt obliged to explain myself.
It is simple: I love your pictures and the stories behind them. I think of them as ‘Wonderful stories’ in stead of ‘awful pictures’. It is amazing how a few lines can express an endless variety of emotions.
(I have been addicted to ‘Peanuts’ by Charles Schulz, ever since I saw/read them for the first time in a Dutch newspaper (must have been in 1964) for the same reasons. They convey facts of life in a few lines, are always funny, never dull. There is a striking similarity of Linus’ security blanket and Older daughter’s ribbon, by the way. )
