I agree with Craig Allan Heath: Giving up half of the people of the USA? This is the present state of the DSA. One of the big tasks of the really progressive people in any society is inclusiveness, integration, solidarity, cooperation. The ideal of equality is meant for all. One of the many obstacles in solving the dangerous polarization is the total lack of cross-bubble dialogue. Second obstacle: the city-rural area divide. Third obstacle: the inclination to enmity in opinions. It could be interesting to think about mechanisms of pacification in politics. Example: The Netherlands in the 20th century. The inherent enmity between socialist, conservative-liberalist and christian columns was neutralized by coalition politics, give-and-take, aimed at finding common ground and mutually acceptable compromises.
