I admire Amelia Earhart for breaking codes and crossing dangerous borders. She was a human being and thus not infallible. She was a control freak, would never have attained her goals without that quality, but she lost control. It is all too human to get sloppy when seeming invincible. She took calculated risks. In the end she miscalculated.
My admiration has not faltered. A bit like the case of Mozart, plain and shallow in his attire, but one of the greatest composers ever.
