Kathy, it moves me how you and I, separated by an ocean, living in different states, formed by different parents, families, friendships and educators, share exactly the same values and ideas about basic rights for all, derived from those values.

Since 11 years I am working on my personal humanistic credo and I can tell you it is totally congruent with your declaration. The most important principle can be derived from this, and I quote:

‘You have the responsibility

To bear the consequences of that right’

Because we are not alone on this planet, but social animals, our freedom is limited and what is more, we have obligations. But that is another thread.
