Oh yes, soul mates exist. But they are not that half of the wheel searching for the other half, to shortcut Plato’s rendering of the myth. It is possible to have several soul mates. I have a soul mate in classical music, a soul mate in poetry and a soul mate who is in almost everything the opposite of me — she is an old soul, I am a soul with the absolute age of 16 - but still my life companion, since 1970.

Did you read any Frisch, or has your intuitive antipathy blocked him completely from view? Guess we would find out you and I are no soul mates if we worked out why I love his work and you loathe him as a person. Something to do with Ingeborg Bachmann?

I do not understand what you mean by my mini me. The profile picture? It’s definitely me, in 2008. I changed it just now to a 2017 selfie in the Shipping Museum in Amsterdam.
